Mission to China during the ILOPE 2011 and OVC EXPO & POEM 2011

Description

The Canadian Photonic Consortium (CPC), in collaboration with the Quebec Photonic Network and the Ontario Photonics Industry Network (OPIN), organizes a mission to China from October 25th to November 5th, 2011. The objective of this mission is to help participating companies to establish business contacts with Chinese companies and economic development organizations. This mission will cover three cities: Beijing, Shanghai and Wuhan. There will be also opportunities to visit the China International Lasers, Optoelectronics and Photonics Exhibition (ILOPE 2011), Beijing (Oct. 26 – 28), and the Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exhibition (OVC EXPO), Wuhan (Nov.2-5) and to participate to the Photonics and Optoelectronics 4th International Meetings (POEM), also in Wuhan. For those companies who wish to do so, they can exhibit at the two exhibitions with very favourable conditions.

* Available GOA subsidies for all participating Canadian companies:

• 50% of an air-ticket up to $2 500 ;
• 50% of hotel fare for 10 nights up to $200 per night;
• 50% of meals and incidentals for 10 days up to $150 per day.

* Available subsidies and support from the OVC EXPO 2011 Organizer to each exhibiting Canadian company:

• One free room per company in a 5 star hotel during the exhibition
• 20% discount for a standard booth at the exhibition, i.e. $ 1 840 US per booth instead of $ 2 300 US.

Preliminary Program:

Oct. 25 – arrival in Beijing, China
Oct. 26 – exhibition ILOPE 2011
Oct. 27 – exhibition ILOPE 2011 and/or companies/ institutes visits
Oct. 28 – exhibition ILOPE 2011 and/or companies/ institutes visits
Oct.29 – Free visits in Beijing, evening, flight to Shanghai
Oct.30 – Free visits in Shanghai
Oct. 31 – companies/institutes visits
Nov. 1 – companies/ institutes visits, evening, flight to Wuhan
Nov. 2 – exhibition OVC 2011 and conference POEM 2011
Nov.3 – exhibition OVC 2011, conference POEM 2011, and/or companies/institutes visits
Nov. 4 – companies/institutes visits in Wuhan
Nov. 5 – Return to Canada

Estimation of cost

The Quebec Photonic Network will take responsibility for the logistic of this mission. The cost requested is $1000 per company. This price includes the following items:

• Assistance to obtain a visa
• Reservation of air tickets
• Reservation of hotel rooms
• Pre-arrangement of companies/institutes visits
• Organization of local transportation
• Exhibit brochures and banners at ILOPE 2011 and OVC 2011 in a common booth
• Accompany service and translation on site
• Networking reception

• International Airfare ticket
• Local Airfare tickets
• Hotels and per diem

Estimated overall cost:

$5 000/person minus applicable subsidies.
