" The number of employment in the photonics would be between 4500 and 5000 in 2006, and the incomes generated by the industry would be approximately 600 million dollars CAD for 2006. It should be noted that this number of employment does not include those in the research centres and which, according to our estimation, should be around 800". " It is interesting to note that our industry is coming out very well from the market fall of the optical telecommunications. It is noted actuelly that the number of employment directly to the photonic would have known a growth of 12,4% for 2006 to 2007. According to the forecasts from our companies for 2008, the employment growth should reach 33,1% between 2006 and 2008".
